Nottinghamshire YMCA’s Housing team were out in force on Saturday 20 November to celebrate this year’s Christmas Market on Bridge Street, Worksop.
Our Lead Tenancy Support Officer David Southgate was joined by community volunteer Adam Nevin and the regional charity’s Marketing Officers Rachel Nevin and Julian Phillips to deliver an interactive awareness stand at the annual lights switch-on extravaganza (11am-5pm).
Volunteers proudly donned YMCA ‘giving something back’ t-shirts (and festive hats, of course!) whilst bringing full Christmas cheer, as this event provided an excellent opportunity to celebrate the presence of YMCA Housing’s services on the doorstep of our Worksop office.
In addition to raising awareness of the impact of homelessness during the most bitter winter months, official YMCA Christmas cards were also on sale with all proceeds going to supporting our resident art therapy groups across Nottinghamshire.
Visitors to the YMCA stand could also write messages of support in festive cards which will soon be delivered to residents to bring extra warmth and positivity over the Christmas season.
