New Youth Music programme by Young Creatives!

YMCA Digital, based at NGY MyPlace in Nottingham, is pleased to announce their team will be delivering a new programme to support young people to develop skills in the creative arts.

The programme will provide three 2-hour specialist open-sessions per week during school term time for 30 months.

YMCA Digital’s trained team will focus on different elements of music making including instrument tuition, recording and production, DJing and song writing, encouraging 125 local young people to access high-quality music provision and develop emotionally, socially and musically and contribute positively to their communities.

Qualified, specialist, music practitioners will lead sessions alongside volunteer Music Leader trainees and skilled adult musicians, through sessions held at NGY, ensuring accessibility to young people from across the city. NGY is Nottingham’s flagship MyPlace youth facility with industry-standard music studios, providing practice space and high-spec recording facilities.

This second stage application has been designed through consultation with the attendees of the current programme, coupled with the revised budget and with the experience of delivering the sessions on the Young Creatives programme.
