1pm on Friday 29 May
To help get our community moving during this week’s #BeActive campaign, we invite you to join us virtually – wherever you may be located! – for a YMCA Wellbeing Walk at 1pm on Friday 29 May.
As our country enters its tenth week of lockdown, never before has it been so important to find creative ways to unite safely and boost each other’s mental and physical wellbeing.
Led by our YMCA Staff Activity Group, we will each set out for a one hour-long walk to help us all get active and get fresh air in the knowledge that we are a team.
Remember to share on social media a photo of one thing from your walk that makes you smile/feel positive about life, tagging @nottsymca and #BeActive. If you wish to share your walk photos but do not have social media, please email your snaps to mpr@nottsymca.org and we will share them for you!
So whether you are a keyworker, furloughed or working from home – grab those walking shoes and head for your nearest park, rural area or local beauty-spot, remembering to socially distance at least two metres from anyone who does not live with you to ensure we keep our community safe.
If you cannot leave your house due to self-isolating with coronavirus symptoms/shielding, why not download a gentle walk video from YouTube on your phone and join in with the activity from the comfort and safety of your own home. Please only ever do what you can manage; if you are worried about your symptoms, please consult the NHS coronavirus website.
Happy walking!
