We are sharing some important news regarding our YMCA Adventure Guides programme in 2020 as Nottinghamshire YMCA introduces our charity’s brand new membership scheme.
Devoted to building experiences and memories that will last a lifetime, Adventure Guides provides a fun and engaging series of expeditions and camping opportunities for parents and guardians to build strong positive relationships with their children.
For the past four years, this life-shaping family programme has relied on funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to keep the costs as low as possible. Although this funding draws to a close this year, we are committed to keeping all of our circles up and running across Nottinghamshire!
To achieve this, we have created an affordable membership scheme that will keep costs low and ensure every member of YMCA Adventure Guides continues to get the best out of all opportunities.
Building Family Memories
Over the course of the funded programme, we have seen communities being built across the county and families coming closer together, developing amazing friendships, learning new skills, and having tonnes of fun. Our team has worked hard to create an environment of trust and positive growth for everyone, based on fantastic feedback and cooperation from families. The amazing Adventure Guides families who participated in the programme helped us to shape it into something truly life-changing, and we want to continue to provide that guidance and support.
Although we are applying for an extension to the funding, the structure of the Adventure Guides programme will be changing to a membership scheme, meaning a membership fee will be introduced from May 2020. This fee ensures support for each Adventure Guides circle and will help to strengthen local circles and programme as whole after funding officially ends.
The programme will continue to run with monthly expeditions and summer camping trips for everyone to enjoy. The only change will be the introduction of a regular monthly payment in order to be to be part of the programme and part of your circle. Within this monthly membership,
Families can gain access to all the Adventure Guides activities, Nottinghamshire YMCA staff support to help you to organise and run your own activities, and camping weekends (including meals, sports, games, etc).

Monthly Membership
- Parent(s) + 1 child: £15
- Parent(s) + 2 children: £20
- Parent(s) + 3 or more children: £25
