The Kean’s Head at the Lace Market, in Nottingham, will be donating profits from their infamous ‘Gin of the Week’ to Nottinghamshire YMCA after our own HR Advisor, Kate Haddigan, recently moonlighted as a mixologist at the pub.
Kean’s Head Manager, Dave Coxon, decided to donate all proceeds raised from sales of the rose gin cocktail, which has been devised by Kate, to our charity after learning about the vital frontline services our teams provide for young people, children and homeless individuals across Nottinghamshire.
‘Our team is like a family’
To produce the tasty creation, the Liverpool Gin’s organic rose petal is deftly blended with a squeeze of fresh lime, half-shot of Belvoir fruit farms‘ elderflower cordial and a quad of Damasgate wholesale‘s rose tea buds – all lifted with a healthy splash of cold soda water.
“Much like our Nottinghamshire YMCA teams, the community at the Kean’s Head feels like family,” Kate explained.
“When I recently moved 100 miles from home to Nottingham and started working for Notts YMCA, I was so excited to tell my new friends at my new favourite pub all about the amazing services that we offer. So inspired by our services, the manager Dave insisted on running a ‘Gin of the Week’ promotion to donate profits to our frontline services.
Refreshing summer beverage
“The cocktail was inspired by my love of roses, and I was tenacious in my insistence of appropriate mixers and garnishes, much to everybody’s amusement! However, they all agree that it is a delicate, refreshing summer beverage – definitely one to enjoy in a warm, friendly atmosphere at the heart of the city’s Lace Market.”
In a Facebook post, the Kean’s Head commented: “It’s delicate, well-balanced, and revitalising… Even Dave has been converted! Our thanks to Kate for her creative direction, and her drive to have us stock ALL the Rose Gins in the world!”
Come along to the Kean’s Head in Nottingham’s Lace Market to enjoy good company and a tipple of this special beverage, which will be on sale from 30 July-5 August 2018.
(*However delicious Kate’s concoction may be, please remember to drink sensibly!)
