Calling all campers, parents, and anyone who likes to sing! Our YMCA Day Camps team have been working hard to see how they can support children, young people and families during the UK’s period of lockdown. Since Camp Williams is no longer happening during the Easter holiday, we will be bringing Camp Fire Friday to YOU, posting a new singalong video and some fun activities to take part in every single Friday.
What are camp rallies, you ask? Camp rallies are songs that we sing at Camp Williams to engage campers. The call and response nature of the songs helps to build camp spirit, and allows the kids loosen up and feel more confident. The best part about campfire songs is that you don’t have to worry about staying on key or being good at holding a tune. You don’t need a guitar to accompany you either, just need lots of enthusiasm and a bit of comedic timing! These songs are a great icebreaker as well as fantastic way to end the week’s festivities, getting parents involved and giving them a taste of Camp Williams life.
Tune into one of our Facebook and Instagram pages to find out more and to join in on activities, videos, competitions, and more!
We will be keeping you up to date with all of the latest news regarding our programmes. The delivery of camps in May half-term and the summer holidays will be dependent upon the Nottingham Emmanuel school’s reopening, and we will let you know asap when that will be. Safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our young people is our absolute priority, and we are grateful for your support and cooperation in doing everything we can to protect our brilliant campers and their families.
