Nottinghamshire YMCA’s Housing team in Worksop highlighted the importance of community engagement this week by hosting an information stand at Bassetlaw Voluntary Action Centre’s Annual General Meeting.
YMCA Housing Lead Tenancy Support Officer David Southgate and Marketing’s Rachel Nevin turned out at the event in Retford to raise awareness of Nottinghamshire YMCA’s latest supported housing provision in Worksop.
Delegates of the event, which celebrated the importance of charity volunteers, ranged from MS Society and Victim Support to the Fire Prevention service and representatives from Rhubarb Farm, a social enterprise scheme based in Langwith.
“Building positive relationships through networking with our local community has never been more important,” explained David Southgate.
“As our new supported housing service continues to grow in Worksop, we are deeply committed to help generate an understanding about how the support of local people can significantly improve the lives of our community’s most vulnerable members.”
YMCA Housing’s supported accommodation, based at 93-95 Bridge Street in Worksop town centre, provides temporary housing support for single adults (aged 18-35) through a mix of self-contained fully furnished flats and transitional properties.
Every resident receives tailored support from our charity’s staff members while living at the YMCA to facilitate a positive journey towards them achieving independent living.
