Department Overview

Children Youth & Families

Our commitment to Children, Youth & Families is embodied in the services, programmes and courses we operate under this vast, expansive and impactful department.

With over 600,000 children and young people across Nottinghamshire and East Riding, our aim to engage and support as many of those as possible.

We run before and after-school clubs at several schools across Nottinghamshire; we look for Playleaders to ensure that that children are safe and having fun!

YMCA Nursery

We are a child-centred nursery that meets the needs of the children through “in-the-moment planning”. Our purpose built nursery offers exciting  opportunities to support their learning and development.

From Apprenticeships and Early Years Educators, through to Nursery Assistants and our very own Nursery Chef, we have a whole range of roles within our nursery no matter your level of experience.  We can support you with your Level 3 Early Years Workforce qualification and beyond!

Wrap-around Childcare

We run before and after-school clubs at several schools across Nottinghamshire; we look for Playleaders to ensure that that children are safe and having fun!

Our childcare is all about discovery, curiosity and adventure!  All of our sites are Ofsted registered and we can support your development by supporting your studies of your level 3 in Children & Young People’s Workforce qualification.

Many of our Team enjoy working purely during term time but we are also able to offer you the opportunity to work at Camp Williams during the holidays too.

CURRENT VACANCIES

Camp Williams

We run Camp Williams, our flagship school-holiday programme for children aged 5-15 year old where you can work during your own breaks from your studies or employment.

We run Skills Clinics where the children can try out new activities so we can use your hobbies and interests to base a Skills Clinic upon; teach children to skateboard, learn how to play cricket or even to complete a mosaic using recycled material – we want the children to experience new and interesting activities which might light a spark within them.

You will love working with children and be ready to be fun, animated and loud!  The more fun you are having, the more fun the children are!  Without realising it, you could make a long-lasting impression on a child which positively impacts their self-esteem.

Predominantly working on a casual basis, our Camp Leaders are able to work around other employment or education commitments as we only run in the school holidays.  Many of our Camp Leaders also work on other YMCA projects during term-time after school too.

CURRENT VACANCIES

Youth Programmes

We run after-school, youth sessions for 11-17 year olds, providing them a safe, welcoming environment where they can enjoy a wide range of activities, Monday to Friday.

We offer different sports and arts activities from basketball and football through to arts, cooking and even film club for the ultimate chill out.

Our programme leaders are passionate about working with young people.  You will be able to share your expertise and passion for a sport or activity with the young people, or just be a non-judgemental, friendly individual able to keep a group of young people engaged in a task!  We celebrate your background and seek out those ready to help give opportunities to young people.

Predominantly working on a casual basis, our Programme Leaders are able to work around other employment or education commitments as all of our sessions run after school or in the holiday.  Many of our Programme Leaders work on multiple projects and go on to take other roles within the YMCA, providing this as a fantastic way to start your career with us!
